Six Secrets to Successful Trade Show Booth Designs

Six secrets to help ensure your trade show booth design is eye-catching and your booth is appealing and inviting.

If you plan to exhibit at a trade show, invest a little time in your booth design. After all it is the first thing people will see when they approach you so it is important to make a good first impression.

Here are six tips will help you to make sure that your space is appealing and inviting.

Use the right visuals to create interest – Clear messages works best.

Grab the attention of all guests with a great booth. There are a number of eye-catching options which will be successful in attracting the attention you require, including:

  • Banner stands
  • Table covers
  • Digital signage
  • Pop up displays
  • Hanging banners
  • iPad stands

Use Colors

It might seem obvious but the color of your stand is important. Different colors prompt different emotional responses. You want to choose a color scheme which is striking (so you stand out) and inviting (so visitors come in). Obviously you need to be faithful to your branding and marketing requirements but if the opportunity arises take the time to think about your color choices.

If branding rules limit your color options consider the visuals you choose

Use of Text / Copywriting

Color may lead produce unconscious responses from prospective visitors but text and you sales copy play a big part in the communication of your business message. When it comes to booth design think short and sweet – an eye-catching, attention grabbing headline – maybe a question to arouse interest.

Of course when your visitors comes into you booth – be ready with more information and more details – so they walk away informed and (hopefully) impressed.

Remember to ensure all the key copy is above waist height – or better still at eye height – so it can be seen (and hence read!)

Using Portable Displays

When creating the setup, you can use portable displays. These kind of displays can be customized to fit the requirements of the booth and space location. They are also easier to transport.

Upgrade flooring

If you can, upgrade the trade show booth flooring. The standard commercial carpet is uncomfortable to stand on and usually does not match the persona of custom displays. Upgraded flooring is often worth the investment. The space feels more comfortable, individual (and for your floor team – easier to stand on).

Importance of storage

When designing a booth, do take advantage of a wide variety of storage solutions. Booths lacking storage space can lead to chaos – leaflets, samples and information are hard to find or lying around untidily (which can ruin any first impression). Use shelves to organize the products and create an atmosphere which is attractive to the eye.
